Project Reveal: Family Ties Custom Build Kitchen

Everyday we receive questions about the kitchen from our Family Ties Custom Build. This kitchen is a layering of organic texture and color with white, light-filled spaces grounded by warm wood floors. Many of you want to know specifics about paint color, counters, lighting, hardware, and flooring. So although we have shared shots of this space before, today we are excited to answer all your questions, spill details, and share resources. We hope it helps you recreate a similar vibe in your own space!

Flooring

The beautiful European oak hardwood floors are from Monarch Plank Hardwood Flooring. We used the Domaine Collection in Montrichard. Montrichard is a warm medium tone color with variations that mimic the mixed wood tones used throughout the design. It’s a color we love and have used before in this project. The planks are long and wide. 9-1/2″ x 8′. Long, wide planks create a clean modern look with fewer lines breaking up the space.

Paint

The kitchen uses a crisp layering of black and white. The foundation of this look is white walls and cabinetry painted Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace paired with the island and pantry door painted Benjamin Moore Black Panther. The tuxedo look is warmed by open shelving and sections of cabinetry in natural wood.

Tile

For the kitchen and pantry backsplash we featured Cle Tile’s 2″x6″ Zellige in Weathered White. We wanted the space to feel crisp and airy, but the Zellige ensures that it also feels warm and layered with texture. It’s a hint of Old World that adds depth to our new build.

Moroccan Zeillige Tiles are handmade glazed terra cotta. They are incredibly beautiful and we used them throughout our Family Ties Custom Build. We love them for adding incredible dimension to a neutral space. Because the tiles are handmade, no two are exactly alike in either color or size. This adds a pretty artisan vibe to a space.

Counters

In this kitchen, we opted for porcelain counters in both black and white. Porcelain countertops are made from ceramic clay and mineral coloring. They are durable and non-porous. To add interest in the kitchen, we created a two tone effect using two different counter colors. The island countertop is Magnifica Calacatta in Super White while the rest of the countertops are Magnifica Nero Marquina.

Hardware

For the hardware we chose the Grafton Metal Pull from Restoration Hardware. We love how the pretty brass color blends with the oak but creates warm contrast against the black and white cabinetry.

    Hi Becki,
The link for the lights doesn’t work.

I would be so grateful if you could tell me where those pendants are from?

    Many thanks
    Phoebe
