Amber Fillerup Clark’s New Kitchen

Hi! We are so excited to share another space from the home of Amber Fillerup Clark of Barefoot Blonde. Amber recently moved from NYC (see our design of her apartment here) to Arizona. We were lucky to work with her on her new build home. We shared the details of her laundry room earlier this year, and today are excited to show off her beautiful kitchen. Amber had some great ideas for the design of her space that really made the kitchen warm and inviting. Take a peek!

Amber’s new home is warm and creamy. In the kitchen, Amber had two design ideas that really set the tone for the inviting space. She knew that she wanted a butcher block island and white-washed brick backsplash. Both help to create a really pretty Old World vibe. The backsplash is actual red brick instead of a brick tile. It looks beautiful paired with the Benjamin Moore White Dove paint. We chose this softer shade of white instead of the bright white we often use in projects.

The cabinets are Masterbrand’s Decora Line with a mix of shaker and flat front. This mix strikes a perfect balance between timeless traditional and clean modern. Masterbrand was able to color match the white dove paint and create custom panels for the fridge/freezer and pantry. The cabinet hardware is a beautiful flat-finished brass from School House Electric that looks really pretty with the creamy cabinetry.

The butcher block island adds beautiful warmth and texture to the space, but pairing it with white Carrera marble counters around the perimeter keeps the space feeling light, bright, and airy. Wood and leather counter stools (similar here) keeps the look two-toned and clean.

Above the island, hang a trio of white and brass pendant lights, the MAC pendant by Urban Electric. If you haven’t yet seen Urban Electrics fixtures in person, the craftsmanship is beautiful and worth the splurge. But if it’s not in your budget, you can get the look for less here or here.

There are open wood shelves in several place that break up the cabinetry to create a more open feel. On the refrigerator wall, this built-in shelf space has a feature wall of incredible tile from Tabarka. It’s the Paris Metro pattern in royal blue/off white.

The shelves are styled with creamy whites, terracotta, and a mix of wood tones. These tones are all trending colors for 2019. Read more here.

FInally, another incredible feature of the kitchen, is the Sully Oven Rang from Lacanache. So pretty. It’s one more detail that helps create the timeless warm European feel in the kitchen.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining nook. Neutral textures keep the space from competing with the kitchen details. A simple wood table is paired with these client favorite woven chairs.

It is always so fun to collaborate with Amber. Excited to share more spaces from her beautiful home soon.

Thanks for stopping by today!
