Warm Up Your Home for Fall with Our Signature Flooring

There’s something about the approach of fall that makes us want our homes to feel a little warmer, softer, and more inviting. And we’re seeing that same shift happening in interiors. Warmer wood tones, traditional influences, vintage-inspired pieces, and layered textures are all making their way back into our spaces, and we love the sense of character and comfort they bring.

One of the best ways to establish that warmth is from the ground up. Flooring sets the tone for an entire home, and choosing the right wood tone can instantly make a space feel more collected and welcoming.

If you’re looking for a beautiful warm-toned floor, Golden and Honey from our collection with Hewn are two of our favorites. Both have the warmth and organic character of white oak, but each creates a slightly different look.

Golden

Golden is a warm, mid-tone floor with medium character and low variation. Put simply, it’s exactly what its name suggests: warm, soft, and rich without feeling too dark.

We especially love Golden in traditional and vintage-inspired spaces. It brings in that extra layer of character that makes a room feel established and collected, but it never feels overly rustic or busy. Paired with creamy whites, natural stone, warm metals, and vintage pieces, it creates such a beautiful foundation.

Golden is based on the look of natural white oak, which gives it an organic feel. Another detail we love about our floors with Hewn is that they use 16 unique plank patterns rather than the typical eight often found in builder-grade LVP. That additional variation helps minimize noticeable pattern repeats and creates a much more natural look across the floor. The extra-large 72″ x 9″ planks are another favorite feature. Wide planks create a cleaner, more expansive look and can even help smaller spaces feel larger by allowing the eye to flow more naturally through the room.

Golden Details

  • 30 mil wear layer
  • Enhanced bevel edging
  • Embossed in register
  • SPC flooring

Honey

Honey is another warm mid-tone with medium character and low variation, but compared with Golden, it’s a little more subtle and muted.

This one will always be special to me because I have Honey  throughout my own home. I love that it brings in warmth without pulling too orange or yellow. It feels natural and timeless, but the softer tone gives it a slightly more modern feel.

Honey is especially beautiful in modern and transitional homes, although it’s one of those versatile colors that works with almost any design style. It pairs beautifully with warm whites, soft neutrals, natural stone, plaster finishes, and both light and dark cabinetry. It really is an interior designer’s dream.

Golden or Honey: Which Is Right for Your Home?

If you’re deciding between the two, think about the overall feeling you want to create.

Choose Golden if you want a richer, warmer look with a little more traditional or vintage character. It’s beautiful for spaces where you want the flooring to add noticeable warmth and depth.

Choose Honey if you want something warm but slightly softer and more understated. Its muted tone gives it a modern versatility that works beautifully across a range of design styles.

You really can’t go wrong with either. Both create a warm, natural foundation that can evolve with your home over time.

Beautiful Floors Made for Real Life

Of course, a floor has to do more than look beautiful. One of the reasons my team and our client’s love our collection with Hewn is that these floors were designed for real homes and real life: kids, pets, entertaining, everyday messes, and everything in between.

A few of our favorite features:

  • 100% waterproof
  • Scratch resistant and stain resistant
  • FloorScore Certified for low VOCs
  • Compatible with radiant heat
  • Attached backing to help muffle sound

And because flooring is something you really need to see in your own space, you can order 12″ samples of any of our Hewn flooring colors with free shipping. Move them from room to room and look at them throughout the day as the light changes. It’s the easiest way to see which tone works best with your cabinetry, paint, furniture, and natural light.

Whether you’re refreshing one room or choosing flooring for an entire home, starting with a warm, timeless foundation can completely change the way your space feels. Golden and Honey are two of our favorite ways to get that cozy, collected look, just in time for fall.
