Today we wish we were working on site at this beautiful light-filled office in our Summit Creek Project. With oversize windows and expansive views, the space is soothing. We wanted the mountain view to be the focus of this room, and so kept the interior design minimalist with organic textures that bring the outdoors in. Read on for details!
The office space is a layering of black, white, and wood to create a modern organic vibe with plenty of warmth. It’s an interior that flows with the expansive mountain view out the windows. The oak wood flooring has plenty of warmth with a touch of rustic texture. We used the Carmel Collection from Oasis Wood Flooring in the color Fresh Traditions. The walls are Benjamin Moore White Dove. It’s a fresh white with just a touch of warmth, and is one of our favorites for clients that are afraid white will feel too stark.
The cabinetry and shelves are custom and match those in the kitchen. This house is open and airy, and so having the cabinetry match creates unity and ties the separate spaces together. The office is very functional with plenty of counter and storage space for multiple family members to spread out and work. We like when a desk can accommodate more that one person, and so try to fit that in to our office layout. It’s nice that if you have to be working at night, your kids can be completing their homework at your side.
We styled the shelves of the office space in neutrals with pops of greenery and metallic shine. We used a mix of wood tones and sizes to keep the shelves feeling dynamic. For more ideas on shelf styling, read How to Style a Bookshelf.
This neutral, geometric rug grounds the space. It softens the room and adds an interesting pattern and texture without color. We love how this fresh crisp office space turned out. Shop below to get a similar look in your own home and check back soon for more project reveals.
