Your bedroom is your oasis, a space to recharge and refuel. And since the focal point of the room is the bed, making sure it is beautifully made will really set the tone for the space. Today we are sharing tips on ways we create an inviting, lux layered bed for our clients.
Start with a Crisp Foundation
We love the crisp look of white sheets. We use them as the first layer in most of our bedroom designs. The fresh clean look creates a welcoming spa vacation vibe in the space. Because the look is simple, the emphasis is on the feel of the fabric. We always try to buy the best linens that fit within budget. But don’t worry, we have favorites at all price points. Microfiber and cotton jersey are budget friendly, but so soft. This white sheet set is an affordable favorite.
But for bigger bedroom budgets, we love to splurge on pure linen sheets. They are beautiful, breathable, and durable. Linen not your thing? Try our linen-look sheets in the softest cotton percale or these super lux feeling tencel sheets.
Add a Few Lux Layers
A layered bed not only looks invitingly soft, but also keeps you comfortable in any temperature as you pull up or down different layers. We like a thin quit, a plush duvet, and a textured throw on top of our sheet set. We usually keep these layers neutral with a mix of creamy, white, and natural linen. The subtle shade differences add dimension while keeping the vibe airy. If your room feels flat, a patterned or colored throw at the foot of the bed can liven things up.
Keep your Decorative Pillows Simple and Soft
Although we like to use several functional pillows to keep you propped up while sitting in bed, we keep our decorative pillows simple and soft. A pop of pattern or color looks great, but we like to make sure these pillows are plush and inviting. Stick to one long lumbar pillow to make a statement or 2-3 square pillows that can still feel usable and not merely fussy and decorative.
Refreshed your bed? We’d love to see it and show it. Share it with us! #BeckiOwensFeature
