Family Ties Custom Build is a layering of organic texture and color with white, light-filled spaces grounded by warm wood floors. We partnered with Monarch Plank Hardwood Flooring because of their beautiful European oak floors. We used the Domaine Collection in Montrichard. The rich color and rustic texture create beautiful contrast with the crisp Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace walls.
The Domaine Collection is beautiful. It is hand scraped for a rustic look that adds character and a casual vibe to the modern home. Montrichard is a warm medium tone color with variations that mimic the mixed wood tones used throughout the design. It’s a color we love and have used before in this project.
The planks are long and wide. 9-1/2″ x 8′. Long, wide planks create a clean modern look with fewer lines breaking up the space. This is important in this space to balance the texture in both the Moroccan Zelige kitchen backsplash and the limestone fireplace.
The wood floors run throughout most the home with the only exceptions being tile in wet spaces. Hardwoods throughout a home feel lux and unify the spaces in a way that helps a home feel larger. Although carpets in bedrooms are popular, here in the master bedroom you see how wood elevates the design and looks beautiful layered with soft rugs.
Monarch Plank Wood Flooring elevates the design of our Family Ties Custom Build. To see more of their beautiful collections and to learn how they can help you sustainably get the look and feel of Old World Hardwoods in your own home, check out their site here.
