Dream Home: An Inspiring DIY Transformation

Michelle Heidenreich

A beautiful office transformation recently came across our feeds. When we realized it was a DIY transformation, we knew you’d be inspired and that we needed to share. Homeowner Michelle Heidenreich of Copper on Pine is slowly transforming her basic builder grade home one room at a time. Take a look at the office that caught our eye and other projects she has tackled throughout her home.

The office is now more functional and much prettier than the blank space it was originally. It’s moody and sophisticated with those beautiful built-ins painted Sherwin Williams Greenblack. Follow along here to see how Michelle skim coated the walls, added trim, built-out the shelves, primed and painted, and styled her space.

Layered neutrals, affordably sourced when possible, create a calm oasis in both the kitchen and living space. We love the mix of wood tones, fresh and faux greens, and pretty ceramics.

In the bedroom, instead of splurging on an antique wood bench for the foot of the bed, Michelle figured out how to DIY her own for only $36. Find out the type of wood she used, how she constructed the joint, and what it took to achieve the antique finish here.

After obsessing over a lamp that was more then she cared to spend, Michelle made over A Facebook Marketplace find using joint compound and paint. Take a look at the inspiration lamp and all her DIY steps here.

If your favorite looks are bigger than your budget, you can often make up the difference by doing the work yourself.  It’s always inspiring to see someone who digs in, learns, and gets it don!
