Project reveal day! Our Torina Project is a collaboration with Pravada Floors to transform a dated faux Tuscan into a fresh coastal home with traditional touches. We gave you a sneak peek of the project last month, and today we are excited to share a full reveal of the kitchen and entry. Read on to see the before images of this space and details on the beautiful flooring.
Before
After
Such a transformation, right? The space is full of natural light, but the original design left the kitchen feeling dark. Our goal was to create an airy fresh coastal vibe by choosing design elements that took advantage of the light-filled space. The Pravada Floors were essential in creating a new look and pretty foundation to build on.
We chose the Palette colorway from Pravada’s new Canvas Collection. It’s a light neutral color with a wire-brush finish and a hint of white wash. The European white-oak planks are long and wide for a fresh foundation that looks beautiful, light, and airy in the space. They have the perfect amount of warmth to keep the white walls from feeling stark and create beautiful contrast against the dark cabinetry.
The knots in the wood grain are walnut brown so the flooring pairs well with the mixed wood tones used in the space. We picked up the darker color in the custom hood range and kitchen and styling essentials like the cutting boards. Pravada offers products with little or lots of variance in the color and grain. Palette has quite a bit of variance for a rich organic look that we like.
Entry Before
After
The wood is finished with Pravada’s Endura Finish. This lacquer creates a strong protective finish that resists dirt stains, water, and everyday wear and tear. We ran the wood flooring throughout the entire first floor so we needed something that would hold up to traffic. Here in the entry, the floors greet guests with a light airy look that pairs perfectly with the dark contrasting accents.
We love the way Pravada helped us create a whole new look in this home. It’s a look that feels current and elevates the California tract home with a designer look.

Hi Becki, the Torina Project is just beautiful! What countertops did you use on the kitchen island? And what cabinet knobs and island chandeliers did you use? Thank you! Theresa
Hi Thank you so much. The countertops are white quartz. The lights are urban electric and the cabinet hardware is Schuab. The knobs are these and the pulls are these both in signature satin brass.
Hi Becki, I love this space! What tile backsplash and grout finish did you use ? Thank you! Heidi
You can purchase the tile here and the grout is a snow white color, not bright white.
Hello! I believe that Etsy shop that the link directs us to is currently not available. Do you know the approximate dimensions of the tile you used? Thank you!
