How To Update Bathroom Vanity Lighting

For those of you who have redesigned a bathroom, you know that there are a lot of little decisions that can become overwhelming. Along with layout, tile, and fixtures, good lighting is a major bathroom feature. We always believe that lighting elevates the design and is worth upgrading but there are so many good options and different ways to use them. To give you some direction, take a look at how we have recently designed our vanity lighting and the trending looks we have been using.

Bathroom Bar

A bathroom bar creates a crisp modern look. We especially like the look when the sharp edges of the linear light contrast with a round mirror. Make sure that you consider scale. You don’t want your light dwarfed by an oversized mirror.

Pendant lights can be an unexpected way to illuminate your vanity. We like the way it draws the eye up to create height in the space. Here, a single pendant makes a statement.

If your pendant light is large, consider pairing it with a solid framed mirror to create balance. Make sure that you don’t place the pendant too high. We like the look of the light overlapping the mirror.

Two pendants beautifully frame a mirror. We love this trending ceramic cylinder and the way it pairs with the other organic textures in the space to create an artisan vibe.

 Sconce Lights

A single sconce above a smaller mirror is a chic look. Don’t limit yourself to searching for “bathroom lights.” Use any sconce that you love from your favorite lighting designers.

For a double vanity, consider a single sconce above each mirror, or a row spaced above a larger vanity. We like how the swing arm and hanging sconces add additional depth.

Sconces are also pretty framing your mirror. Place one on each side of a double mirror, or for additional light, also add one in-between a double set of mirrors.
