A kitchen recently caught our attention on Instagram and we knew we wanted to share it with you. It’s a dreamy space that shows how trending ideas paired with personal style can create a beautiful kitchen that is uniquely yours. Lacey of Ponderosa and Plaid is the homeowner behind the kitchen and designed the space herself. She sent us photos and details of the sources behind the look. You’re going to love it. Take a look!

The entire space is a beautiful revamp, but for us, the statement maker is that waterfall island of Green Quartzite. Heavily veined and such a unique color, the countertops are an unexpected design detail. Going for the bold choice can feel scary, but choosing a look you love can make your space stand out. Quartzite is a beautiful natural stone that comes in a range of colors, from neutral white and gray, to bolder more colorful options like this green. It’s generally more durable and sometimes also more affordable than marble.

The cabinetry is custom with varied finishes that help create a space that feels textured and interesting. Floor to ceiling cabinetry is inset with rattan. The detail adds character to the cabinetry and makes them feel more like a custom furniture piece.

The white cabinet paint is a custom blend of favorite whites from Sherwin Williams. Blending your own shade to get it just right is a great tip for creating a kitchen that you love. We did the same thing to create our perfect exterior white.

Terracotta floors from Alexander James Tile Studio ground the space. The white diamond tile is a custom detail cut in at installation. The warm floors are a pretty pairing with the warm wood cabinetry and rattan details.
