In five easy steps, you can transform your bedroom. A few additions will take it from sparse and boring to layered and cozy. Take a look how texture, textile, and styling statements created beautiful spaces in the bedrooms of our Desert Oasis Project.

Contrast Neutral Pillows to Elevate the Space

Our Desert Oasis Project is a layering of neutrals. Even though we didn’t add bold pops of color, we mixed light and dark patterned neutral pillows to create a pretty focal point on the bed.

Add a Rug to Play with Pattern

We always add a rug to our bedrooms, even in a carpeted space. A rug creates plushness, a soft step, and an opportunity to add pattern.

Layer Lighting throughout the Space

Lighting is a way to make a space look more curated. We like to use both a statement light in the ceiling and table lamps on the nightstands. Although we like the lighting to blend, we think contrasting color, material, or metal adds greater depth to the space.

Tie it Together with a Throw

A throw at the end of the bed adds another layer of texture and makes the bed look lux and inviting. Chose something textured or chunky that looks beautiful tossed without much effort. Although we do like to layer pillows and throws on the bed, we don’t think it should be complicated to put together in the morning or look untouchable. A tossed together look looks lived-in and welcoming.

Don’t Forget Greenery

Greenery for us in a must. It adds life, color, and texture to a space. We always style our dressers and shelves with potted greens, but also love to fill an empty corner with a tree in a textured pot or basket. Although live plants are of course the most beautiful, faux can be the way to go in a low-light space or if you’re not interested in caring for your house plants.

Fall is a great time to work on making your spaces extra cozy. Check back throughout the season as we share textile, lighting, and rug finds at great prices.

Happy Monday!
