Family-Friendly Bohemian Eclectic Kitchen

As promised, I wanted to share more details of my recent Cadiz project. This home has a great open feel. The living room, entry and kitchen all connect to make one large livable space. One of my favorite parts of this project was designing the kitchen area. Today, I want to give you an inside look into this family-friendly bohemian, eclectic kitchen.

Family Friendly Bohemian Eclectic Kitchen

When I started working on the kitchen, I knew right away I wanted to keep it light and bright and maximize the space. I kept in mind that this fun family of four would be spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so I wanted it to be pretty as well as practical. The foundation for this space was cool and neutral. The walls were painted Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray.

The oval tulip table and bench seat are functional and stylish, providing extra walking room in the kitchen. I love the contrast of the leather and wood dining chairs juxtaposed with the polish of the table. The single glass, globe pendant gives a light an airy feel. Paired with the oval table,  it helps to break up the straight lines of the space.

To create the bohemian style in this kitchen, I accessorized with eclectic finds. Two simple wood and metal swivel stools rest below the counter. The macramé hanging serves as wall art and fills the large, open wall space. I picked an assortment of wood and ceramic, mid-century planters to give the kitchen a collected feel and to add some greenery.

The textiles in this kitchen create interest with pops of color and layered textures. I used a vintage kilim rug for a fun global inspired vibe and several wood cutting boards for warmth on the counters. Some vintage mud cloth and some new tribal pillows were layered in to tie the space together. Tie dye kitchen towels add a fun element of surprise.

I had a wonderful time creating this bohemian, eclectic kitchen. Thank you for checking in to see the finished look. To get the look in your own home see below. I hope you have a wonderful day!
