One of my favorite neutrals for large living spaces is a soft, gray rug. For this week’s rug trend I would like to focus on what I call “cool gray rugs.” Gray rugs work great in a variety of spaces and are a great alternative to other neutral options. The cool neutral tones work in classic or contemporary designs. Gray tones are soothing and sophisticated at the same time so they can be a great update for a casual or more luxe space.
I love how the subtle tone on tone prints of gray rugs create an airy feel. I’ve used large gray area rugs as the foundations in several of my designs. In my San Clemente Beach House project, a woven gray rug was the perfect fit for the main room filled with blues and sandy neutrals. When I designed this more sophisticated living room with Nicole Davis (seen below), I used a gray rug in a contemporary graphic print to create a more luxurious feel.
Gray rugs are a great option for a beautiful foundation in any room. Rugs Direct has several beautiful options for gray rugs from modern geometrics to wovens in global inspired designs. Whether your space is classic or modern glamour, a gray rug is a great options for a fresh update. Below are some of my favorite gray rugs from Rugs Direct. Would you mind sharing the name or link to the first rug you have pictured?
It is from west elm, but they don’t make it anymore. Sorry
I love the bullet planter on the gold stand in the corner of one of the photos! Would you please share where that is from?
They are on my site under the shop tab and then designer tab.
Wouldyou be willing to share the source for the rug in the second photo? Lovely!
It is from Stark Carpet! Thanks
Thank you!
