In an open concept space, where the kitchen, dining, and living rooms are all created within one big room, it’s important that each space has a defined feeling and use. We use lighting, rugs, and statement furniture to make sure that each space has it’s unique vibe and purpose, while ensuring that it all blends together to create a cohesive flow. When done well, open concept feels open, airy but purposeful and never cavernous. Dining Area
In the dining room, a linear chandelier draws you to gather at the table, while soft chairs in a unique shape stand out even in a space where there are lots of beautiful pieces in the living and kitchen areas.
Living Area
A beautiful rug grounds and defines the space. Rugs are one of the easiest ways to create separation between one area and another. This one from our Margaret collection, makes a statement with pattern, but the earthy neutral colors are easy to blend and tie-in with all the surrounding areas. We paired it with a creamy white sofa in plush upholstery.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, our favorite way to define the area within a larger open-concept space is with lighting. Pendants above the kitchen island draw your eye to this gathering area. We love the beautiful simplicity of these glass and brass globe pendants and the way they work with the other lighting in the room.
