SC Cove Project: Progress Photos

One of the best parts about my job is getting to work with amazing clients. When Aaron and Marlene Hennings asked me to collaborate with them to renovate their San Clemente, CA beach home, I knew immediately it would be a unique and innovative project. They are two of the most artistic people I know, both with incredible individual style. Together, we’ve created a new vision for a global inspired, eclectic beach home. With renovations now in full swing, I wanted to share with you some of the key elements of the design and how it’s all coming together.

The home has a classic Tudor exterior, so the vision for the home is a modern take on a classic French Tudor beach cottage. We chose a black and white color scheme for a fresh feel with modern edge.

Polished brass accents, industrial lighting and natural woods are combined to make for a new, modern mix. We’ve picked elements we loved and pulled them together in an unexpected way. I love how the home expresses their unique sense of style.

Global inspired elements, such as these patterned encaustic tiles, are part of the charm of the home. One of my favorite spaces is the black, white and natural wood staircase in the entryway.

It has been a lot of fun seeing this project come together. I look forward to the full reveal of this home soon, but I was excited to share with you a little of the vision as it develops. Check back soon for more of my project updates. Have a wonderful day!
