Throughout this home, we started with a crisp foundation of white walls using Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace in an eggshell finish. We like this white because it is airy and bright. To ground the bedroom we layered a cowhide rug over the neutral carpet. Layering rugs over carpet is a design tip that creates an extra plush feel and adds color and character to a space.

To complement the clean modern feel of the space, we chose midcentury modern, medium-tone furniture. The darker wood adds warmth and contrast to the bright walls. The modern spindle platform bed is so pretty. Ours is from CB2, they have the best selection of cool modern headboards. It is sold out but you can get a really similar look here, here, and here.

We paired the bed with the Modernist Nightstand. They light colored lacquer and wood breaks up the darker wood in the space. Mixing wood tones or furniture styles is a designer tip for creating that effortless layered look.

The table lamps are a client favorite. We love the shape and mix of black and brass. We finished styling the nightstands with a green succulent for vibrant color and pretty marble coasters.

In the neutral space, we wanted a few vibrant pops of color. We chose a beautiful cactus art print above the bed and a mix of vintage textile pillows. The fall colors of the kilim throw pillows would be such a pretty update in any space for the season. We mixed the patterned pillows with a hand-loomed black and white stripe throw.

The gold broken arch mirror above the dresser adds color and shine. A few more plants add fresh green color. We put one on the dresser in a white planter and then a fiddle leaf fig in the opposite corner. We planted the fiddle leaf in this really great banana leaf and black leather basket. Using a natural fiber basket instead of a traditional planter adds an organic vibe to the space.

The layering of texture, color, and pattern in this fresh white space creates a beautiful bedroom with a Spanish Modern vibe. Get the look in your own home by shopping the image below. To see more of this project, read Spanish Modern Bathroom, Town Center Kitchen, and Town Center Bunk Room.
