Project Reveal: A Bedroom for Emily Jackson of Ivory Lane’s Daughter

Today’s project reveal is a fun one. I worked with Emily Jackson of Ivory Lane on an updated bedroom for her sweet daughter Capri. We wanted the bedroom to feel fun and girly but with a fresh polish that would grow with her. Read on to see how we made a soft feminine statement with a bed in blush pink velvet, but used brass, modern lines, and organic textures to keep it feeling fresh.

The bedroom is bright and sunny. We took advantage of all the natural light and painted the walls Simply White by Benjamin Moore. This is a crisp white with just a hint of warmth and is a good go-to. The finish work on the walls done by Metrie and J & K Custom Finish Work adds a timeless traditional vibe. White curtains from Q Design feel airy but add soft texture to the wall.

The amazing velvet bed and beautiful neutral vintage rug anchor the space. A pink bed was Capri’s only request and we found one with lines we love. The clipped corners give the headboard a traditional shape, while the brass metal base is modern. We layered the plush bed with the softest percale white bedding with the prettiest trim and fringe detail. We added a Moroccan pom pom throw (look for less here) and a lux pink blanket from Minky Couture. The neutral throw pillows from Alice Lane add another layer of soft texture. At the foot of the bed is a mid century modern inspired bench in leather and brass. Leather is a great upholstery fabric in a kids room because it is so durable.

We added beautiful organic sheen to the space with the inlay mirror and nightstands. The shell mirror adds the prettiest texture to the wall that is mimicked in the mother of pearl nightstands from Made Goods.

In the corner, we created a reading nook with a linen swivel chair and sweet Kate Spade grosgrain brass ribbon floor lamp (table version here). How amazing is that leaner mirror? It’s surprisingly affordable and the size and shape make a statement.

The large scale butterfly art is another amazing element of the design. We worked with Natural Curiosities, a California company that makes amazing handmade art. The midcentury inspired dresser is a fresh white-wash color from Noir (on SALE now!). We finished of the design of the room with a statement crystal and brass chandelier.

It’s a perfect room for a beautiful little girl. A big thanks to Emily and Capri Jackson for letting me be a part of their project.

Thanks for stopping by today!
