Our favorite way to maximize your homes potential is to design inviting and usable outdoor spaces. By drawing your family and guests outdoors, you get more space and take advantage of nature’s beauty. Our Rosemary Project was designed with outdoor living in mind. Of course not all of us live in an expansive new build, but the outdoor spaces we included can easily be scaled to fit both the space and yard of your own home. Take a look and be inspired to add a few new outdoor spaces of your own that will motivate you to get outdoors and invite your guests to linger.
A Space for Dining
So that we can feed a crowd if necessary, we love to include the largest table that makes sense in a space. We’ve used rectangle, round, and bistro size in order to maximize available space. Here, we paired the prettiest woven dining chairs with a white table. The texture and lines of the chairs make a major statement. Shop the chairs here.
A Space for Cozy Conversation
A grouping of comfortable chairs invites intimate conversation with family and friends. Here, a gas-lit fireplace makes the spot extra cozy. Include a side table or two that can hold snacks, drinks, phones, and books.
A Space for Afternoon Lounging
Chairs are great, but if your space allows, include a spot for a lazy afternoon nap. We love these chaise lounge chairs, but a hammock or daybed works too.
A Space as Pretty as Your Indoor Living Room
Your outdoor living space can be as pretty as your indoor living room. The look really invites you and your guests to wander outside. Start by grounding the area with a cozy outdoor rug, pick out a statement coffee table, and surround the area with a mix of sofas and chairs. Style with plants, pillows, throws, side tables, and trays to make the space as comfortable as possible.
A Space to Stay Warm Year Round
Include an outdoor fire place or firepit to make your outdoor living spaces usable for much of the year. Of course, a full outdoor gas fireplace feels lux, but a gas or wood burning firepit is just as inviting and fun to use.
We layered our Roesmary project with layers of beautiful woods, durable stones, and neutral textiles. To recreate similar looks in your own backyard, shop our Rosemary Project roundup here!Â
