The living space in our Golden Hour Project is a layering of soft earthy textures and tones. It’s a look that leaves vibrant colors to the views of nature out the window, but complements them with an understated organic vibe. It’s a sophisticated look but created with family friendly materials that hold up to kids, pets, and guests. Take a look how we created this beautiful, durable space.

Creamy stone, white walls, and light floors create a fresh, airy foundation. The walls are Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace, our favorite crisp white that works in almost any space without pulling too warm or cold. In a high traffic area, we use an eggshell finish on the walls. It create.a modern sheen-free look but is easy to clean.

The floors are from The Becki Owens Collection from Hewn Floors. These floors are amazing. They have the warmth and style of European oak, but they are crafted largely from from stone so hold up effortlessly to kids, pets, water, and general ware-and-tear.In this project, we used “Weathered.” The light tone floors pair with crisp white walls to create the fresh airy foundation that defines a casual coastal vibe. It’s a fresh look that translates to almost any style.

We grounded the space with this plush neutral rug. The bold striped pattern adds texture and interest to the space. The coffee table on top of the rug adds the warmth of oak but has a concrete-look top that keeps it protected from kid art and spilled drinks.

A pair of leather chairs adds a lot of warmth the space, breaks up the cool grays, and ties in with the wood-tones in the kitchen. Leather furniture can stand up to a lot of wear and so is a good choice if you expect heavy use. We paired the taupe-colored chairs with our Bailey Sectional. This sofa is meant for lounging, its so comfortable but made with high-performance fabric that cleans easily.
