The Hardwood Floors we are Currently Using

Summit Creek Project / Rebekah Westover PhotographyOasis Wood Flooring, Carmel Collection, Fresh Traditions

A staple of our recent designs has been beautiful wide plank oak flooring. The look is light and airy with few lines to break up the space. We love light woods for their fresh coastal feel, but have also been turning to warmer medium tone woods. Today we are sharing all our most recent wood flooring picks so that you have a place to start with your own design. Remember the color scheme and amount of light in a space will greatly affect how these woods look, so be sure to order samples. Here are the wood floors we are currently using!

The floors in our Summit Creek Project have plenty of warmth with a touch of rustic texture. We used the Carmel Collection from Oasis Wood Flooring in the color Fresh Traditions. We love the rich variation in colors that compliment the modern mix of wood tones we used throughout the home.

The Domaine Collection by Monarch Plank Hardwood is beautiful. It is hand scraped for a rustic look that adds character and a casual vibe to our Family Ties Custom Build. Montrichard is a warm medium tone color with variations that mimic the mixed wood tones used throughout the design. It’s a color we love and also used in Amber Fillerup Clark’s Kitchen Project.

Torina Project / Pravada Floors, Canvas Collection, Palette

In our Torina project we wanted a fresh coastal vibe so selected the Palette color from Pravada Floor’s Canvas Collection. It’s a light neutral color with a wire-brush finish and a hint of white wash. The European white-oak planks are long and wide for a fresh foundation that looks beautiful, light, and airy in the space. They have the perfect amount of warmth to keep the white walls from feeling stark and create beautiful contrast against the dark cabinetry.

The spacious light-filled Double Eagle Project blends clean modern lines with warm rustic metals and woods. We kept the color palette neutral to keep the focus on the beautiful red-rock views out the windows. For this stream-lined look, we color matched the cabinet stain to match the beautiful warm Provenza Floors.

Hi! Are the Monarch Plank, Domaine II, Montrichard floors ok to use in dry, desert climates? Or do you have to maintain a certain level of humidity in the home to prevent cupping and buckling? I have followed your blog and Instagram for years and was so excited when I recognized your Family Ties Custom Build picture on the Monarch website as I was choosing Montrichard as our flooring. BUT, our floor vendor said to stay away from 6mm engineered hardwood as its prone to cupping and buckling here unless 40% humidity is maintained. You put Montrichard in a home in St. George and also here in Gilbert though so any thoughts or advice?
