Project Reveal: The Girls Bathroom in our Family Ties Custom Build

The girls bathroom in our Family Ties Custom Build is a favorite. To create a fresh space with plenty of interest we layers patterns, textures, and contrasting warm and cool tones. Today we are sharing all our sources to help you create a similar look in your own home.

The beautiful tile in this bathroom is from Cle Tile. The feature wall creates a statement using  2″x12”X5/8” Architect’s Palette in Blueprint. The pretty gray adds contrast to the white and wood space. A full wall of tile adds a lux designer feel and makes Cle’s handmade artisan tile feel like a major feature of the space. We paired the rich wall tile with classic Carrara Marble Hex flooring. The white reflects the light in the space, while the pretty veining ties in the gray wall.

We set the tile in a herringbone pattern. It is a beautiful way to add dimension and interest to your space while using simple subway tile. It’s a great way to elevate even the most affordable tiles. Herringbone is a traditional look, but add dark tile or grout and it pulls modern.

We chose to use brass accents in the space. Brass hardware pops against the cool Moroccan zellige tile. The color adds warmth to the space and ties together the color contrast between the wood vanity and tile. We used the Brizo Odin Widespread Faucet and the Restoration Hardware Fulham Pull.

The modern brass sconce is the Hinsdale Wall Sconce from Hudson Valley Lighting. When paired with a warm toned runner (no longer available but this is similar) and woven baskets, the cool toned space feels warm. Baskets are a favorite of ours for hiding everyday essentials. No one sees the clutter, but everything you need is close at hand.

The crips white walls are painted Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. This is the color we used throughout the home. The wood vanity is custom and stained to match the house flooring, Montrichard from Monarch Plank’s Domaine Collection (read more about this flooring here). The black windows are from Anderson Windows and Doors using their budget friendly 100 series (read more here). We love the way they add dramatic contrast to the white airy home and frame the expansive views.

Love the herringbone. What color grout and what size grout joint did you use for that particular tile to make it lean so modern looking? Thank you!
