The Gray Paint Guide

Gray is a classic, elegant color for any space. It looks good as the foundation color for a room, on cabinetry or on furniture. Gray pairs well with blues, greens and other neutrals and is timeless. Lighter shades of gray are a good alternative to white if you are looking for another neutral for your home. A rich dark gray can work well in a formal space, study, or even on a statement piece of furniture. I use gray often in my designs, and know it can be hard picking the perfect color so I’ve created a gray paint guide as a reference for you. See below for the gray paint guide and examples of my choices in some of my designs. Have a great day!

In my San Clemente beach home project, I used Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray on the cabinetry. It pairs beautifully with the soft blues, greens and other neutrals throughout the home.

The gray in this living room is Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray. I love how the white moldings and trim pops againsts the gray color.

I love using gray on furniture. It creates a unique, elegant feel. These custom spool statement chairs are done in Benjamin Moore San Antonio Gray.

Love your work! I’m always in a rug rut and would love to know the places you shop for great different rugs other than the mainstream places everyone goes. (West elm, world market)
