When a client asked me to create an inviting space for her visitors, I decided to design a soft and pretty coastal bedroom in a relaxing neutral palette with modern accents. Today, I’m sharing the full reveal of this project and details on how to recreate the look for your own home.
To create a timeless foundation with a refined feel, I started with a gray tufted headboard. The modern, clean lines give the room a fresh start, while the neutral color grounds the design.
I kept the linens and textiles simple with gray and white with geometric details for a modern edge. One of my favorite details in the room was the pairing of gray mudcloth stripe pillows with a pop of the pink from a Chinese embroidery textile.
Classic coastal elements were paired with modern eclectic accessories to create a “new” beachy look. White lattice side tables serve as nightstands. Then, I placed faux fur stools at the base of the bed for some fun interest.
Bright brass tripod lamps and an octagon shaped mirror give the space some shine and color. An aqua glass lamp and large clam shell were styled on a soft gray, wood dresser for a coastal vibe.
For the final touch, I was looking for art for this space and this beachy print called “Shoot the Pier” caught my eye. I love the depth of the dark colors in the picture and the crisp, minimal white frame above the bed.
