At the end of our trip to France, my husband and I traveled south to a small village called Eze. Eze sits on a hilltop in the Cote d’Azur area of the French Riviera. It’s famous for its beautiful ocean views and charming cobblestone streets. This was one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been.
This was our view as we strolled up to our room at Chateau De La Chèvre D’Or. As legend has it, the rooms of this hotel were once villagers homes. We could feel the history of this medieval town as we took in the details around us. It’s was like taking a walk back in time.
One of the best parts of being here was how relaxing it was. The Riviera moves at a slower pace. In the mornings we would walk down to this Patisserie and get pain au chocolate and egg tarts. The owners and some local friends would spend time talking, jokingly outside the cafe.
This is my husband and I, sitting back and taking in this special place. I loved the chance we had to go here and be reminded that it’s ok to slow down every once in awhile, to take in the beauty around us, and enjoy the company of the people we love. I’ve tried to bring this spirit back with me as I hop back into the craze of daily life. Thank for sharing in these memories with me. Have a wonderful day.
