You are going to love today’s dream kitchen. Crisp black and white is softened by rustic reclaimed wood and rich brass accents for a look that is layered and full of character. We’re sharing some favorite details here, but be sure to check out Whitney and Co Design for an in-depth look at each design decision they made during this week kitchen transformation. Take a peek!
The dramatic range hood makes this space. Smooth plaster and rustic wood pair to become the focal point of the space. The hood frames a beautiful black and brass European style range. It’s a splurge that makes the entire space feel incredibly high end. Built in to the inside walls of the range hood are nooks for most used essentials.
Black counters balance the dramatic range. Black mist granite in a honed finish creates the look of soapstone but is more affordable and durable. They add perfect contrast to the light and airy space.
The cabinetry is painted School House White by Farrow and Ball. It’s a soft off-white that helps create the rich timeless feel of the space. The cabinet hardware is from Rejuvenation. A custom island made from local reclaimed wood adds history and functional counter space in the small kitchen.
Open shelving helps add an airy vibe to the space and adds to the European farmhouse look. We love the way Whitney and Co styled them with vintage art and ceramics alongside everyday dishes.
A modern mix of lighting finishes in black and brass create additional interest in the space, while still tying in with the range.
