We have long loved Southern architecture and have shared more than one Southern Dream Home. But today’s dream home is another Southern Low Country favorite and we can’t resist. Built on Daniel Island, in Charleston, SC, the beautiful coastal farmhouse features crisp white wood siding, warm wood french doors, a perfect pop of soft blue on painted shutters, and a metal roof. The home is classic but fresh, inviting, and provides plenty of curb appeal inspiration. Take a closer look!
This home embraces one of our favorite exterior color combinations: white + wood. Add the 5v crimp metal roof and the look is perfect. The cool shaded white feels clean and modern while darker wood doors add a timeless traditional vibe.
The crisp white exterior is painted Sherwin Williams Pure White paired with shutters painted Benjamin Moore Wales Gray. It’s a beautiful color combo with the crisp white softened by the pretty blue-gray. We love the way the warm fir wood doors and bronze lighting details pop against it. The doors are stained Early American by Minwax.
Garage and Driveway
Dormer windows above the garage flood light into a mother-in-law suite. An in-lay brick driveway detail that adds a lot to the curb appeal of the home. Small design details like this are what make a custom high-end home stand out. We feature this driveway in Spring Curb Appeal: Driveways.
Screen Porch Living
There is nothing so charmingly Southern as a screened-in porch. It adds to the effective living space of the home, while embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Love an outdoor fireplace for nights outside all year long.
The back of the home is as pretty as the front. X-rail detail adds charm and leads to a custom rail and staircase the drops to a beautiful pool surrounded by travertine. The 4,000+ sq foot home is large and spacious but the design feels warm and cozy.
