Design Trend: Black Tile Kitchens

Taylor and Taylor

In honor of fall and the month of October, today I want to share one of my favorite trends, black tile kitchens. Whether on the floor or the backsplash, black tile adds a little drama and a crisp modern edge. It’s especially pretty when layered with white marble and rustic woods for contrast. Take a peek and fall for some of our favorite black tile kitchens!

Leanne Ford

A black stone floor grounds this airy white kitchen. Black and white is a classic kitchen combo but we love how the look is softened here with rustic woods and natural fibers.

Jessica Helgerson

A long time favorite kitchen that nails the layering of Old World and modern. The black and white cement tile floor is bold and beautiful paired with simple cabinetry, brass pendants, modern counter stools and an antique wood island.

This kitchen has such a warm, lived in feel, yet sophisticated design. The design of the cement tile flooring add just the right amount of interest.

Black stone tile in this pretty industrial kitchen gives the space a clean timeless foundation that keeps the other design elements, like dark grout, shiny brass, open shelving, from feeling too busy.

Becki Owens Town Center Project

In our Town Center Project Kitchen, patterned cement tile creates an Old World vibe in the modern space, Using the pattern tile as a backsplash instead of on the floor, makes it feel like a work of art and a major feature of the room.
