This weekend I stumbled on this beautiful kitchen designed by Kate Arends of Wit and Delight. I dug a little further and discovered she completely renovated her 1920’s tudor home in St Paul, Minnesota. All the spaces are amazing, but today I want to share the details of her amazing kitchen. Check out this fresh black, white and brass kitchen design.
The black, white and brass color palette is one of my favorites in design right now. I love the polish and strength black brings to a space, especially contrasted with crisp white. Brass accents brighten the black and white pairing and add modern richness. This kitchen is the perfect example of the harmony of these three colors.
Starting with a minimal black and white foundation leaves room for the addition of interest with bold patterns and textures. I love the charm of the encaustic cement tile flooring, in its decorative star pattern.
The warm from the natural wood counters and open shelving mixes perfectly with the brass fixtures and hardware. I love the organic feel it brings to the space. The shelf styling, with additional pops of color, functional dishes and interesting objects is perfection. This makes the space feel lived in and inviting.
I read she loves to cook and it shows with her choice of range. The brass hardware selection on this LaCanche French range is stunning. It enhances the character of the kitchen and blends with the other brass accents in the space. You can tell every detail was carefully thought out and came together so well.
The furniture and accessories in this space have me drooling. I love the black wire barstools and lighting. The glass globe pendants are fresh and airy and the mid-century, brass dining chandelier is the perfect complement. I can imagine this is a wonderful space to make meals everyday. It feels modern and delightful.
