Last week we posted Q+A: Black or White Windows? and got a lot of feedback from all of you trying to make this decision. Both looks can be both beautiful and timeless, so go with what you love. Easier said than done? Sometimes you have to see it to envision it on your own home. Today, we’ve done the Pinterest searching for you. We have a rounded up of homes pairings similar in style but with different color windows. Take a look at each pair and decide which window color is more you–the timeless look of white or crisp modern black.
Some of the most popular images from our blog are black and white painted exteriors. They feel modern but still timeless, and so it’s no surprise that it’s a color combination that everyone loves. We get LOTS of questions and comments asking for advice on the best paints to replicate the look. Today we want to make it easy on you. We are sharing all our favorite black and white paints for you to try out. Remember that different lighting, landscaping, roof color, and neighboring houses can all affect the look of any color so be sure to grab samples to find the best fit for your home.
There is an exterior trend we’ve been loving–light wood entry doors. We used a light wood door on our Villa Bonita Project and it is so pretty paired with the painted white brick. It adds an organic warmth that still fresh and airy. Depending on the design of the door, light wood can feel rustic, traditional, or modern and so is a beautiful way to update your home’s exterior no matter you style.Today we have a beautiful roundup of light wood doors for every aesthetic to help inspire your own design.
It’s a beautiful look. If you are looking for more exterior inspiration, make sure to read Pros and Cons: Painted Brick Exteriors, Spring Curb Appeal: Painted Front Doors + Paint Guide or Gorgeous Garage Doors.

One beautiful way to up your home’s curb appeal is to add a fence or border to your landscaping. It adds instant charm, helps define your garden, and creates a little privacy. For today’s post in our Spring Curb Appeal Series, we are sharing front yard fence and border inspirations. Take a look at these different materials and styles to help you find the perfect fence to fits your home.
Wood fences are classic. They add charm whether you use the real thing or a low-maintenance alternative that gets the look. Try a white picket overflowing with flowers to create a cozy cottage vibe, a simple corral fence perfect for a modern farmhouse, or horizontal slats that feel clean and modern.
I recently completed our Villa Bonita custom build project, and I’m excited share some of the resources with you today. One of my favorite parts of this home is the exterior. It’s a crisp, white, clean painted brick with black accents and wood details. The outdoor lighting was a key element to tie the look of the home together. I wanted it to echo the clean lines of the home and have more of a modern, transitional style. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to partner with Lamps Plus for the lighting on this home. The scones I choose from their outdoor lighting collection were the perfect finishing touch for its design. Today, I’m sharing some pictures of the home and the resources for the lighting so you can recreate the look for your own projects.
