3 Porcelain Countertops we Love

Family Ties Custom Build / Rebekah Westover Photography

Porcelain countertops are a new favorite of ours for clients that love the look of natural stone but need a more durable, affordable option. Porcelain is a man-made countertop similar to quartz. Like quartz, it is super durable, non-porous, and more affordable than natural stone. But porcelain sets itself apart form quartz by using ink jet printing to copy the veining, color, and texture of your favorite natural stone. The look is very realistic and beautiful. When considering the best countertop for you, porcelain is definitely one to consider. Here are three we love.

Bedrosians Polished Porcelain Slab in Nero Marquina

In our Family Ties Custom Build we created a two tone effect using two different porcelain counter colors that mimic marble. The beautiful black counters are Bedrosians Polished Porcelain Slab in Nero Marquina. The dramatic dark color with white veining adds a bit of polished edge to the white kitchen. We softened the look and added interest by using a white porcelain for the island countertop, Bedrosian’s Polished Slab in Calacatta Super White.

Villa Bonita 2 Project

In our Villa Bonita 2 Project, we used the same porcelain as we did in our Family Ties Project but chose a honed instead of polished finish. It’s a totally different look. The honed matte texture creates a soft warm look that pairs beautifully with the light wood and brass accents. The veining in the porcelain slab is ultra realistic and so makes a beautiful statement on the waterfall counters.

Neolith Mount Blanc

In our Beach Front Project, the counters and range backsplash are both made from Neolith Mont Blanc. This manufactured counter creates the look of Mount Blanc Quartzite. Quartzite is a white natural stone that is more durable than marble, but like any natural stone does need some maintenance. In this project, we wanted to maximize durability and ease of maintenance and so went with porcelain. Neolith Mont Blanc is beautiful but effortless. It has a creamy white background with subtle veining and a slight indent at each vein that creates a more natural texture.

The best people (company) fabricating and installing any brand of porcelain large format slabs in 6 and 12mm is Moderno Porcelain Works a Texas based company that has almost nationwide coverage. They don’t stop at countertops but are best in class for flooring and wall panel installation. They even fabricate and install for Bedrosians, DalTile, Emser,, Neolith, Dekton, Floor & Dacor and many more.
