3 Boutique Hotels Along the Australian Coast

Our family trip to Australia started in Sydney, but we took a 10 hour car ride north along the coast to meet my parents in Brisbane. Along the way we stayed in some charming accommodations, and I discovered a couple of boutique hotels I would have loved to spent some time in.

Flynns on Surf

After about a 4 hour drive up the coast of New South Wales we stayed the night at Flynns on Surf. These 1, 2, or 3 bedroom villas are situated right by the beach and were perfect for our family of six. I loved the clean modern interiors and the tropical feel of the cottages. It was the perfect spot to unwind, break up our drive and explore the beach.

The Atlantic Hotel

When we reached Byron Bay, I found The Atlantic, an incredible hotel in the gypset style of Byron Bay.

The hotel is made up of individual guest houses, common gathering spaces and unique spaces.

The hotel looks over a rain forest and is near Clark’s beach known for its perfect long boarding waves. At The Atlantic, you’ll find travelers from all over the world who come for the laid back surf culture and artistic influence of Byron Bay.

You could definitely get the feel of living like a local in this incredible boutique hotel. I would love to come back and stay for a while at The Atlantic Hotel one day.

Halcyon House

In Cabarita Beach, Australia just 30 minutes north of Byron Bay, we stumbled on the Halcyon House. This gorgeous hotel with its own private beach was calling to me.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of the grounds and one of the guest rooms. I fell in love with the modern coastal decor.

The bathroom in the guest room was gorgeous. I loved the blue and white cement tile floors and crisp brass accents. The rooms were so fresh and inviting, echoing the beauty of the hotel grounds.

I could lounge by this pool for hours, but if that got old, you could just stroll down to beautiful beach or take a bike ride on one of the vintage beach cruisers available for guests to ride.

I hope you got a little taste of its unique beauty today and have the chance to visit it for yourself one day. Have a wonderful Monday!
