2019 Trend Update: Bold Kitchen Cabinetry

Kismet House

For the last two years, we have been sharing bold kitchens cabinets painted rich dark hues as a big trend. Today, as we look forward to fall, it seemed like a good time to revisit the trend. We’re sharing kitchens in blue, black, and green that have lately caught our eye. Take a look to see how the trend of using dark colors in the kitchen has evolved this year.

A blue kitchen can add a rich moody element for a modern vibe, or styled to feel classic. Light woods and brass accents add rich sheen, while a vintage rug feels timeless.

Black

Amber Interiors

Black is a neutral with a bit of edge. Paired with light woods, marble counters, and white walls it creates a dramatic contrast and makes a statement. Pair it with traditional elements, and it takes on Old World warmth. Add it to a minimalist kitchen, and it feels crisp and modern. Black continues to trend. We’re seeing it this year paired with rustic dark wood and marble.

Green

We wrote about green kitchens here and here. This year, the trend seems to be taking a swing toward earthier shades. Love the kitchen above paired with warm brass pulls and a rosy vintage rug. The bottom kitchen is an incredible pairing of green and petal pink. Such a fun and unexpected kitchen pairing that feels surprisingly modern.
