For this dining room project I knew right away that I wanted to create a beautiful light and inviting space, making it more formal yet fresh. My vision was to brighten up the room and create a soft, elegant feel at the same time. What was a darker, tuscan space became a light and airy dining room. Take a look at the before and after transformation.
The Capiz chandelier was my inspiration for the room. I love it’s iridescent, beachy feel. The eye is immediately drawn to it, creating a great focal point.
The room was painted a warm gray with Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. Moldings and trim are painted Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee to make them pop and define the space. The drapery is in a neutral pattern, to soften the windows and look of the plantation shutters.
We added built-in for storage in the niche with Restoration Hardware knobs and painted it Benjamin Moore Swiss coffee. The table is reclaimed light oak and the chairs upholstered in a complimentary neutral fabric. I wanted the focal point of the room to the be chandelier and the other elements to blend with the space. The round wood mirror is placed to reflect the light of the chandelier.
Creating the look for this light and airy dining room was a lot of fun. I hope you have enjoyed seeing the transformation. If you would like to get this look, I’ve made some selections for you to choose from below. I hope you have a great Monday!
