This time of year we are all making list of new projects to tackle. For me, the first step is to get organized, and refresh the spaces in my home, especially my work space. Here are a few tips and great articles that can help you with this. Small improvements can make a big impact…
The Work Space
Having a space designated for work and planning is a huge plus in a home. If you are lucky enough to have room for an office that is great, but you can create a work space that is beautiful and functional in an unused space in your home. Check out this blog post for details on how to recreate the look of this beachy home office.
Refresh with Greenery
One of the best ways to instantly freshen up a space is with a new indoor plant. It will brighten a tired looking room and add a wonderful organic feel, especially in these dreary winter months. For an indoor plant guide with great planter options visit here.
Tip: I noticed IKEA has a great selection of indoor plants for incredibly affordable prices. If you are looking for the perfect plant, stop by their home decor department.
Creative Storage Solutions
When you are trying to clean up your spaces, extra storage really is key. I like to work storage options into the design of a room. One of my favorite storage solutions are pretty baskets. There are so many beautiful baskets available right now. They add interest, even a global vibe and are practical too. In this living room above, I used a chevron basket as a planter. But I also love the lidded baskets from Serena and Lily for children’s toys. Anthropologie has a great selection too. For more tips on styling with baskets visit my detailed post here.
