While pinning for non-white kitchens, I found this amazing kitchen design by Blair Harris. There are so many good textures and layers in this space, it’s a fun study. I immediately loved how it has a casual vibe, yet the rich black cabinetry and brass accents give it a sophisticated edge. And since I’m highlighting backsplashes this week, the timeless subway tile is a great example of the impact of a simple white backsplash.
This space feels light and bright even though it is a galley kitchen. I love the use of open shelves to create an airy feel (see more open shelving tips here). This is a smart as well as beautiful space.
There is such a good mix of old and new in this design. I love how the crisp white tile meets aged, painted brick. The rustic, wood beams and butcher block counters are such a fabulous contrast to the polished black cabinets. There are so many amazing, unlikely pairs in this space that mix together for a fresh, crisp, cohesive look.
The textiles and fabrics in this space make it feel cozy and inviting. I love how the family room and kitchen have colorful ethnic rugs for color and personality. This space is the product of a mix master. It’s a beautiful black, white and warm kitchen.
