At the end of the year I always think its fun to take a look back. Today, I want to share a roundup of all of my kitchen designs, plus some of my favorite kitchen inspirations from 2016. There are some amazing ones, you won’t want to forget. I hope you enjoy reminiscing with me.
Many of my designs and my favorite kitchen inspirations use open shelving. It is a look that has been popular for a few years, but because it makes a kitchen feel bright and open, while still being functional, it remains a favorite. Read my Q&A: Open Shelving for more ideas.

Colored cabinetry in the kitchen can be a pretty alternative to white. The painted cabinets in these pictures have inspired several projects of my own. For more inspirational colored kitchens and some of my favorite paint colors, check out my cabinetry paint guide and my post on Non-White Kitchens.
Vintage rugs in the kitchen enrich the space by adding some history and a pop of color. This is a design idea that everyone can do for an affordable kitchen update. White kitchens remain my favorite. They are fresh, timeless, and provide a perfect backdrop for beautiful statement lighting, unique hardware, and pretty millwork. Read about my Affordable White Kitchen Remodel here.
